Located in Sahuarita, Arizona, Salmagundi Scholar was founded by Trista and Robert Hibberd in May 2026. We have had many opportunities to utilize small-group and individualized tutoring, and we love it! We have more than 5 years each of teaching experience in classrooms both large and small, and in online college courses. Trista has also tutored for many more years at home. She has taught quilting, music, and Barton phonics.
Our present effort started years ago as Quilted Salmagundi, Trista’s quilting and sewing business. She designs, sews, and quilts all kinds of textiles, from t-shirt memory quilts to table runners. She has had many clients bring her wedding and prom dresses, slacks and shirts, etc., to customize and tailor, as well. She even knits colorful socks for Robert!
As we have gained teaching and tutoring experience in other subjects, and have enjoyed getting to know our students and their families, we have grown to love teaching in small-group settings.
